How We Built an AI-Powered Changelog & Roadmap Tool (Zero Manual Work)
Maintaining product changelogs and public roadmaps is one of the biggest friction points for technical founders and engineering teams. You ship features rapidly, but writing clean customer-facing release notes and keeping a timeline up to date often falls through the cracks.
Watch the Full Build Walkthrough
In this walkthrough video, we break down our complete architecture for turning conventional Git commits and release tags into structured visual timelines and automated customer-facing changelogs.
The Architecture: From Commit to Interactive Roadmap
Rather than relying on closed-source SaaS tools charging recurring monthly fees per seat, we engineered Wolf Timeline as a local-first desktop application built with Tauri v2, Rust, and SQLite. When paired with our Git velocity parser, commits are categorized by component and synthesized into human-readable milestone narratives.
Zero Manual Work with Git Hooks & CLI Synthesis
By intercepting release tags during CI/CD, our CLI runs a multi-stage parser that groups pull requests, scrubs internal secrets, categorizes user-facing enhancements, and publishes directly to our public changelog endpoint.
