The idea

In 1960, Aslan began developing Aslavital, a separate formulation in her programme of geriatric research.

Aslavital followed Gerovital H3 as another pharmaceutical development from Aslan’s research programme. The institute records the start of its development in 1960. Its place here concerns that history, rather than an endorsement of anti-aging effectiveness.

A life behind the work · 1897–1988

Ana Aslan

Aslan was born in Brăila and studied medicine in Bucharest between 1915 and 1922. She later taught at the medical faculty in Timișoara and worked at Bucharest’s Institute of Endocrinology. From 1952 until her death, she directed the Institute of Geriatrics. With her team she developed the procaine-based formulation Gerovital H3, presented internationally in 1956, and began work on Aslavital in 1960. Her career helped establish Romanian gerontological research. The formulations’ historical anti-aging claims should not be confused with established proof of rejuvenation.
